Ensure Orbi satellite is within range of router during syncing for easier connection and move to optimal home location after syncing.
For Router: To start with unplug the router from the power source outlet, wait for couple of minutes and then re-plug it back.
For Satellite: Repeat the same process for the satellite as well.
This power cycle process removes the technical glitches in the system and will help to rectify the issues like orbi satellite not connecting effectively.
Router Sync Button: You can find the sync button on the back of the Orbi router. Press and hold it for couple of seconds till the power LED is solid blue in colour and remain o till another 90-180 seconds. This solid blue colour confirms that the Orbi router and satellite are properly synced.
Satellite Sync Button: Similarly, you can repeat the process on Orbi satellite as well. Press the sync button on the back of the satellite and hold it for at least 5-10 seconds.
Solid Blue: This indicates the successful connection between the Orbi router and Orbi satellite.
Amber: It indicates that distance between satellite and router is too much, try to bring them closer.
Red: It reveals the failed sync between the satellite and the router. Pause for at least 90 seconds if this red colour does not change then retry the sync process.
Orbi App: Once the syncing process is in place, it is advisable to use the Orbi App to monitor the updates and alter the settings if required. For instance, you will get notification regarding upgraded versions of firmware and security hacks. You can also edit the admin credentials whenever required.
Web Interface: You can also login to router’s web interface at orbilogin.com to confirm the connection and rectify the issue if there is any.
Ensure router and satellite are running on the latest firmware to prevent syncing issues, which can be cross checked once you access the account from orbi login via the Orbi app or web interface as briefed in the above step. Out dated firmware could result into connectivity issues and various other blockages in the device performance.
When nothing works it is recommended to reset both router and the satellite to their factory settings. Be mindful that this process erases the customised setting and you need to start everything from scratch.
To perform the default factory reset, you need to press the Reset button on the back of the devices and hold for at least 10-15 seconds until power LED starts blinking.
