1. Power Cycle the Network

Give your network connection a new start. Power cycling the network is what you should do now. Any pending updates also get a new push this way. To power cycle, use these steps:

  • Use the Power button on the Orbi satellite to turn it off and then take out its power cable.
  • Do the same with the Orbi router and the modem.
  • Remove the LAN cable that’s connecting the Orbi router and modem.
  • Let the devices stay this way for some time.
  • Begin again by inserting the LAN cable between the devices. Ensure that the connection is well in place.
  • Next, plug in the modem and switch it on.
  • Wait for 2 minutes and power on the Netgear Orbi router.
  • Finally, turn on the Orbi satellite after 2 minutes.

2. Reset the Orbi Satellite

  • Plug in both devices and supply power to them.

  • If the satellite Ring LED turns solid magenta this means the devices failed to sync.
  • In case the devices fail to automatically sync then do it manually using the Sync buttons.
  • Push the Sync button on the router and without delaying for more than 2 minutes push the same button on the satellite as well.
  • The light on the satellite should turn solid blue or amber. If it is amber then get the devices closer and the light should turn solid blue for about 90 to 180 seconds and then turn off.
