  • Link the LAN port on the modem to the Internet port on the router.

How to Turn on AP Mode on Orbi Router?

You can use the Orbi router login page to access its settings to change the mode on your Orbi router. Follow the steps given below to change mode to Access Point:

  • Connect your Orbi router to the new modem router with the aid of a LAN cable. Insert the cable tightly into the LAN and Internet ports of the modem and router respectively.
  • Supply power to the devices now and let them boot up completely.
  • Fire up an internet browser to visit the Orbi login page.
  • To log in, insert the URL orbilogin.net or orbilogin.com in the address field. Use login credentials to move further.
  • When you land on the Basic home page, click on the Advanced tab.
  • Navigate Advanced > Router/AP Mode to display the Router/AP Mode page.
  • Here, click on the radio button next to AP Mode.
  • Select an IP setting from the following:
  • Enable fixed IP settings on this device
  • Get dynamically from existing router
  • Finally, click on the Apply button.

This way you can turn your Orbi router to the Access Point mode. If you wish to revert the changes, log in using the same procedure and select the Router Mode radio button. It is to be noted that when you have your Orbi running in AP mode, you cannot use the Netgear Orbi app to manage it.
